Valium

Valium, Valium (pronounced ben-zoe-dye-AZE-eh-peen) is a benzodiazepine. Diazepam is thought to increase the activity of some neurotransmitters in the brain.

Both alcohol withdrawal symptoms and anxiety disorders are treated with Valium.

Valium can be combined with other medicines to treat seizures or muscle stiffness and spasms.

Warnings:
If you have myasthenia gravis, severe liver disease, narrow-angle glaucoma, severe breathing problems, or sleep apnea, you should not take Valum. You should also not take it if you are allergic to diazepam or related medications (such as Ativan, Klonopin, Xanax , and others).

Diazepam may cause breathing problems, especially if you have recently taken alcohol or an opioid medication.

Abuse of this drug can lead to addiction, overdose, or even death. This medication should be kept out of the reach of others.

Never stop taking this medication without first consulting your doctor. If you suddenly stop taking the medication after long-term use, you may experience life-threatening withdrawal symptoms. Some withdrawal symptoms may last for up to a year or more.

If you stop taking Valum and experience symptoms such as strange muscle movements, increased activity or speech, abrupt and severe changes in mood or behavior, disorientation, hallucinations, seizures, or suicidal thoughts, seek immediate medical attention .

to treat anxiety, alcohol withdrawal, and seizures. It is also used to relieve muscle spasms and to calm patients before medical procedures. This medication works by calming the brain and nerves. Diazepam belongs to a class of drugs known as benzodiazepines.
